REC Group begins production of new 50-cell mono solar panel

News

REC Group began commercial production of its new 50-cell panel using monocrystalline-PERC cells in early July 2017. The new REC Peak Energy 2S Mono 50 BLK panel is specifically designed for the Japanese residential market. In contrast to the 48-cell panels commonly used in Japan, REC's new 50-cell panel features an excellent combination of practical size, easy handling, optimal for system configurations and designs, and high power output of up to 250Wp. Due to the smaller rooftops in Japan, with an often-complicated design, panels smaller than the standard 60-cell are highly appreciated by installers and homeowners.

As the technology leader for multicrystalline panels, REC Group is well known for products with world-record power. With the new 50-cell monocrystalline product, REC is making the next step to provide its customers with the most powerful and reliable panels at competitive prices and backed by strong bankability. The new panel is a double premiere for REC: first 50-cell panel and first monocrystalline product offered by REC. REC has packed more power into a single panel by reducing the size and the weight at the same time. In addition, the new REC Peak Energy 2S Mono 50 BLK guarantees easier handling and quicker installation times. To achieve this high performance, REC has applied all its know-how and high production standards to the new product. Like all REC products, this new panel is 100% free from potential-induced degradation (PID), avoiding performance losses under harsh climate conditions, such as high heat or humidity.

"With our new 50-cell panel, we demonstrate our commitment to the Japanese market with tailored and high-power products," says Ushio Okuyama, Representative Director for Japan at REC Group. "The REC Peak Energy 2S Mono 50 BLK addresses the needs of our customers in Japan who demand innovative design combined with high panel efficiency.
