Leclanché announce €5m order
Leclanché has announced that it has received an order for a 15MWh battery storage project in Germany. The order is worth €5m and commissioning of the complete system is due in March 2018.
The buyer is swb who will use the storage as part of a hybrid solution with thermal storage infrastructure.
The use of a battery system allows better value from the heat system. The company expects hybridisation to become more common as clients use batteries with existing technology to allow better optimisation.
Anil Srivastava, CEO of Leclanché, said: "We are delighted to receive this order from swb. It endorses our software and system integration capability and experience of delivering similar projects around the world, and further solidifies our 2018 business outlook and path to EBITDA breakeven."
Hybrid and stand-alone battery energy storage systems have the ability to replace grid ancillary services provided today by conventional power stations, contributing to a far more environmentally-friendly stabilisation of the grid.
