Sungrow Partners with Swinerton Renewable Energy and D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments

News

Sungrow has provided its SG1000MX central inverter to the 30 megawatts Red Horse 3 solar project. Partnering with Swinerton Renewable Energy (SRE) and an affiliate of D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments, L.L.C.

The Red Horse 3 project, located roughly 80 miles east of Tucson in Willcox, Arizona, began in December of 2015 and is slated to be completed in the second quarter of 2016. The power generated by the facility is expected to connect directly into Tucson Electric Power's grid.

As one of Sungrow's most popular products, the SG1000MX is designed to provide higher yield with a high efficiency. Based on its overload capability, SG1000MX is able to maintain real power output while satisfying power factor requirements. Capable of functioning in extreme weather and challenging landscape conditions, the SG1000MX is designed with a wide operating temperature range from -30C to +55C and is capable of maintaining continuous and stable operation at high altitude areas.

"Red Horse 3 is yet another example of a successful joint effort with DESRI to bring both jobs and affordable, clean energy to the residents of Arizona," said Mr. George Hershman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Swinerton Renewable Energy. "We are also excited to partner with Sungrow, an innovative developer of energy conversion products, to use their inverters for the first time."

"Sungrow is happy to be a part of Red Horse 3 and anticipates this project to be the first of many renewable projects with the Swinerton and DESRI teams as we serve this growing industry," said Professor Renxian Cao, President of Sungrow."We look forward to delivering the highest quality products so we can help build a best-in-class solar farm with our valued partners."
