BayWa r.e. takes over Italian O&M service provider with a portfolio of 270 MW
BayWa r.e. has taken over the Italian O&M service provider Kenergia Sviluppo S.r.l. With the acquisition of the company based in Rome, BayWa r.e. is securing operational management assignments for renewable energy plants with an output of 270 MW.
After this conclusion, BayWa r.e. is managing Italian solar and wind power plants with a total output of over 500 MW making it one of the leading companies in the Italian renewable energy O&M business sector. BayWa r.e. now manages a plant output of approximately 2 GW worldwide. Matthias Taft, Board Member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business: "For more than 20 years, we have been satisfying our customers in the O&M sector with tailor made concepts. By taking over Kenergia Sviluppo, we are now consolidating our leading position in the Italian market and, for the first time, breaching the significant threshold of 2 GW. This important milestone will spur us on to continue to build up our portfolio and strengthen our market position."
With the acquisition, 30 new colleagues will reinforce the Italian team led by Lorenzo Palombi and Alessandra Toschi. In addition to the O&M business, BayWa r.e. is also active in project business and distribution of photovoltaic systems in Italy.
