Record Number Of Participants At Electronindia 2008
electronindia 2008 in Bangalore will see twice as much exhibition space as 2007. The planned series of talks include contract manufacturing, automobile electronics and electronic design. Messe München International is acting as the sole organiser for this event for the first time.
The eagerly anticipated trade fair electronicIndia 2008 will open its doors to international trade visitors from the electronics industry at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from September 2 to 5, 2008. For the first time, Messe München International (MMI) and its subsidiary MMI India are acting as the sole organisers of this leading regional trade fair for electronics components and electronics production in India and South Asia. All the key players in the industry are expected to attend electronicIndia 2008 as exhibitors. They will occupy a total area of 16,000 m². In 2007 when the trade fair was still held jointly with a partner in New Delhi, the exhibition area was only half this size. A three day series of talks will round off the attractive overall program for the anticipated 15,000 trade visitors at electronicIndia 2008.
The list of exhibitors at electronicIndia 2008 indicates the importance of the growth market of India and the entire South Asian region for the global players in the international electronics industry, and also of the broad acceptance of the trade fair as a platform for the regional electronics industry. The exhibitors include companies both from the electronics components sector and the electronics production engineering sector, for example Arrow, Assembleon, AT&S, Bergen, EMS Technologies, Epcos, Farnell, Fuji, Harting, IMC, Infineon, JAM, Juki, Komax, Panasonic, Rittal, Samsung, Schleuniger, Shinmaywa, Siemens, Taiyo Yuden, TransTechnology, Tyco Electronics, Universal and Würth Elektronik. The electronics groups Siemens and Infineon are supporting electronicIndia 2008 as so-called “Platinum sponsors“.
A large number of small and medium sized enterprises from Germany, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are using electronicIndia 2008 to show themselves at the best on the regional market: they will assemble on the individual country pavilions where they will show trade visitors with products and new technologies.
The first class exhibition will be accompanied by a varied conference program. On September 2, the “International Conference on Contract Manufacturing: The Indian Perspective” will examine one of the fastest growing sectors in the Indian electronics industry. This one day Conference will be a know how and contact platform for contract manufacturing during which both economic aspects and the technologies used in this sector will be discussed. During the CEO Visions Session, the CEOs of Nokia India, Jabil India, APC India, Nokia Siemens Network, Elcoteq and Dell will talk about opportunities and challenges on the Indian market. The second day of electronicIndia will be accompanied by the Symposium entitled “Trends and Future Requirements in Automotive Electronics“. The agenda will feature special talks on the topics of “Driver infotainment systems”, “Car electronics”, “Driver support and safety” and “Challenges for low cost cars”. The speakers come from first rate companies such as Epcos, Freescale, General Motors, Infineon, Robert Bosch and Tyco Electronics.
On September 4, the Seminar entitled ”Exploring the latest Technologies and Tools in Electronics Design” will complete the advanced training programme at electronicIndia 2008. This special event has been organised in co-operation with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The talks during this event by companies such as Actel Pan Asia, ARM, Patni Computer Systems, SoftJin Technologies, Wipro Technologies and Xilinx will deal intensively with design technologies and tools, applications and future developments, especially in the area of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
There are good reasons for the great demand by the international electronics industry for electronicIndia. Messe München International, the worldwide recognised organiser of the leading international trade fair ”electronica” in Munich, ensures that its events contain a high technical level and organisational standards. With the regional strengthening through the establishment of the new subsidiary MMI India in 2007 and the return of the event's venue to Bangalore, the most important location for the Indian electronics and IT industries, electronicIndia is finally becoming established as the industry's leading trade fair for India and South Asia. The Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), India's most modern exhibition centre, is a perfect setting for this high tech event and its discerning participants.
Klaus Dittrich, CEO of Messe München International: “electronicIndia 2008 is in a certain sense a premiere: we are the sole organiser for the first time and can now offer both exhibitors and visitors the international standards to which they are accustomed at our major events in Germany. In addition to our decades of know how as a trade fair organiser, this is guaranteed by the excellent infrastructure of the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, which only opened last year. Our strategic decision to organise electronicIndia on our own in southern India has proved to be a success: the trade fair has straightaway become the largest electronics trade fair in India.”
The strategic partnerships of Messe München International are also continuing to make a decisive contribution towards the great acceptance of electronicIndia. For example, the Indian Printed Circuit Association (IPCA) will enhance the events in the printed circuit boards exhibition section. electronicIndia is also benefiting from the support of influential industry organisations in Europe and Asia, for example the German Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers' Association (VDMA), the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), the China National Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), the China Council For The Promotion Of International Trade (CCPIT), the China Electronics Appliances Corporation (CEAC), the Association of Electronic Industries in Singapore (AEIS), the Consortium of Electronic Industries in Karnataka (CLIK), the Electronic Industries Association of Andhra Pradesh Eliap, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) and the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE).
