DEK Extends Chinese Market

News
Zhejiang Hongchen expands capacity with a further DEK Solar metallization line
Following the successful performance of a recently purchased DEK Solar PV1200 photovoltaic metallization line, Zhejiang Hongchen has confirmed the purchase of a further line from the alternative energies expert. Designed to meet increased demand for cell production, Hongchen chose the new line for its ability to drive productivity, lower cost-of-ownership and dramatically reduce delivery times.

Commenting on the purchase, Hongchen General Manager Mr. Xiang Xiao Long

explained: “After purchasing the first platform, we discovered that the breakage rate was incredibly low. Thanks to an exceptional level of accuracy, the DEK technology just never breaks anything. Plus, while consistently high print quality means that our cell efficiencies are extremely high, a compact footprint enables us to optimise factory floor space. Added to this the fact that DEK could supply the platform in just a few weeks, rather than months, and the decision to purchase a second PV1200 line was incredibly easy! We're delighted with the performance of the DEK system and look forward to enhancing our capacity to meet the growing demands of our customers.”

Delivering impressive credentials including 1200 cells-per-hour throughput, six-sigma process rating, 12.5 micron resolution and advanced handling capabilities, DEK's PV1200 solar metallization line leverages the company's 40 years of experience developing mass imaging platform products. Combined with proven technical advantages, the DEK Solar metallization line is also backed by a worldwide network of support resources, spares hubs, applications expertise and field service technicians. In addition to delivering unprecedented lead times, DEK Solar is also the only screen printing solutions provider with in-house screens capabilities, developing the precision technologies critical to the metallization process in a state-of-the-art Class 10,000 clean room manufacturing facility.

DEK's Alternative Energies Business Manager, Darren Brown, commented: “We're extremely pleased but not surprised at the results achieved for Zhejiang Hongchen by our PV1200 metallization solution. Enabling rising productivity, global support, exceptional accuracy, low cost-of-ownership and dramatically reduced lead-times, the PV1200 is an extremely competitive proposition. And best of all, it realises all of this without compromise! We look forward to continuing the strong working relationship we have developed with the team at Zhejiang Hongchen, supporting them as their business develops into the future.”
