DEK Solar Gets New CTO
DEK Solar, has announced the appointment of Dr. Xiao Chen as Chief Technology Officer.
Dr Chen is a specialist with close to ten years of experience in solar and semiconductor technology and he will play an integral role in the establishment and development of DEK's Solar Technology Centre in Suzhou, which will showcase DEK's commitment to technical innovation and value creation for its world-wide customers.
"Xiao brings extensive, relevant industry experience and we are delighted that he is joining the DEK Solar team. We are confident in his ability to execute and take forward our plans to make our solar business a leader in product development," said Michael Brianda, President of the DEK Group.
Another focus area for Dr Chen will be to work with the Alternative Energy commercial team in developing strategic technical partnerships with key system and process suppliers across the world.
After completing his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Texas in 2003, Dr Chen initially worked with Applied Materials in various research, development and applications engineering positions. Here he developed his expertise in device processing, which he then enhanced in 2008 by joining solar cell technology provider DuPont Innovalight where he most recently held the position of Senior Manager, Global Customer Application Group.
