Huge South African PV plant to be built
Johannesburg Building Energy, an Italian company working in the field of renewable energy and at the end of 2011 it was awarded the contract public as the best bidder in the First Round of program assignment REIPPP (Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme) commissioned by the South African Government, yesterday signed a contract for the implementation by the Department of Energy (DoE) and financial agreements with the banks for the creation and development of one of the largest photovoltaic solar plant in South Africa.
In November of 2011 Building Energy was selected as one of the top 28 bidders for the First Round of the program REIPPP to build a 81 MWp photovoltaic plant in Kathu in the Northern Cape. The plant will be the largest of its kind in the world.
