PVA TePla Publishes Solid Business Figures for Q1 2017
PVA TePla AG, Wettenberg, a manufacturer of systems for the production of industrial crystals and vacuum and high-temperature systems as well as plasma systems and systems for non-destructive quality inspections, generated consolidated sales revenues of EUR 23.3 million in the first three months of 2017, up 37% on the same period of the previous year (EUR 17.0 million).
Gross profit increased from EUR 3.3 million to EUR 5.2 million. This corresponds to a gross margin of 22.2% (previous year: 19.3%). In the first quarter, EBIT was positive again for the first time in five years and amounted to +EUR 0.6 million (previous year: -EUR 0.7 million).
Consolidated net income for the period totalled +EUR 0.8 million (previous year: -EUR 1.2 million). In the first three months of 2017, incoming orders for the PVA TePla Group amounted to EUR 21.0 million and were higher than the previous year's level (EUR 17.9 million). As of March 31, 2017, the order backlog amounted to EUR 47.5 million (previous year: EUR 68.7 million).
Total assets amounted to EUR 91.1 million as of March 31, 2017 compared to EUR 94.7 million as of December 31, 2016. Equity increased to EUR 41.1 million (Decem-ber 31, 2016: EUR 40.3 million). The equity ratio thus increased to 45.1% (Decem-ber 31, 2016: 42.5%). In the first quarter of 2017, cash flow from operating activities significantly increased to EUR 6.2 million as against the end of 2016 (December 31, 2016: -EUR 4.4 million).
The company continues to anticipate consolidated sales revenues of EUR 85 million and an EBITDA margin of 6% for fiscal year 2017.
