Intelligent PV-Energy Management System

News

Solare Datensysteme GmbH will demonstrate their sophisticated energy management system at the Intersolar 2017

Solar-Log represents professional PV monitoring, efficient control of PV energy feed into the grid and innovative solutions for Smart Energy. This allows various electrical appliances such as heat pumps, battery storage systems, heating rods and combined heat and power (CHP) plants to be flexibly managed, switched on or off and visualized, together or individually. Solar-Log is compatible with over 1,700 inverter models from 100 different manufacturers and with more than 100 component manufacturers.

Solar-Log is now even more intelligent: The new Solar-Log WEB Enerest portal is a combination of proven technology and innovative ideas. It makes customized PV monitoring within the function classes and plant sizes possible for installers, portal operators and end-customers.

The Solar-Log WEB Enerest portal is available in three different service levels and price classes to respond even more specifically to the differing needs of individual customer groups. Solar-Log WEB Enerest M, the free basic version, offers reliable analysis tools. It is designed for customers who would like to transpose of their plant monitoring and management themselves. A new option allows installers to offer their customers the free M version, hosted from the installer's own website.

The basic version provides concise presentation of PV yields, consumption, performance comparison of individual inverters and MPP tracker, fault messages and yield overviews via e-mail.

The Solar-Log WEB Enerest L version goes a step further with its features and is designed to handle any special plant and portal operator requirements. It is also intended for technically adept plant owners who would like to monitor their plants themselves. One feature, for example, is simple dashboard visualization of PV yields and the energy balances. In addition to the M version, it is possible to visualize the x% reductions - and the power management reductions and a concise yield overview of several plants allow for reference plant comparisons.

Several PV plants can be centrally monitored with the XL version. This allows installers and service providers to offer their plant customers an attractive service package. With the premium version, the monitored plants and error messages are centrally managed and evaluated by professionals. A custom design of the portal operator can also be applied to the platform. The portal allows the portal operator to remotely configure the Solar-Log™ devices. The portal allows plant owners to have around-the-clock access to the yield and plant information. Automated reports, weather data comparisons and the option to combine several plants with one account are just some of the comprehensive functions that the Solar-Log WEB Enerest XL has to offer.

The new Solar-Log WEB Enerest App with its modern design and completely revised operating concept for smartphones and tablets will be available in June 2017 free of charge.

It offers many new features such as interactive graphics. For example, a single PV plant or several plants can be presented on a pinboard with customized views. Current and historical plant data as well as data from connected components such as heat pumps and heating rods can be concisely visualized. The News Center keeps users informed and up-to-date. The Solar-Log WEB Enerest is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Professional monitoring assistance

With the Solar-Log WEB-4U, Solare Datensysteme GmbH offers additional services relating to the Solar-Log WEB Enerest portal. SDS will take care of monitoring the PV plants connected to your WEB portal.

With around-the-clock monitoring, errors are quickly detected and reported to the respective portal operator.

The Solar-Log WEB-4U makes the daily work for portal operators easier. You save valuable time and minimize costs, have peace of mind thanks to daily monitoring and can count on quick and simple fault detection.

Efficiency during Charging: Solar-Log in combination with KEBA Power Charging Stations

The compatibility between the Solar-Log and the KEBA charging stations provides the option to better utilize one's own PV energy (self-consumption optimization) when charging electric cars. Electric cars can be more efficiently charged with PV energy with the current limiting function.

This ensures that the car always reaches its minimum charge even when no PV energy is available. When there is a PV energy surplus, the Solar-Log informs the KEBA charging station that there is additional power to charge the car beyond the minimum charge level.

The charge data can be recorded and concisely visualized with the Solar-Log WEB Enerest portal. This is possible without affecting the charging process.

The Solar-Log can detect charging station malfunctions. The allows for rapid troubleshooting. The Solar-Log and KEBA charging station use an Ethernet connection for communication.

To expand the functions of Solar-Log, SDS offers various licences.

The Solar-Log Modbus TCP Direct Marketing Licence ensures the communication between direct marketers and remote controllable PV plants, simple and efficient. The Solar-Log can receive reduction commands from the direct marketer and report the current output via this interface.

With the FTP license, the data export can be used for third-party portals. This allows for multiple, periodical data transfers.

The Solar-Log SCB license activates data recording of different SCBs in the Solar-Log, as well as the visualization and monitoring of individual string values in the Solar-Log WEB Enerest portal.

Solar-Log Plant Expansion Licenses (Solar-Log 1200 to 250 kWp & Solar-Log 300 to 30 kWp) are also in the program. The one-time license for the expanded plant sizes requires at least firmware version 3.5.0.
