John Laing buys solar portfolio for £12 million
Alternative investment fund John Laing Environmental Assets Group has acquired the CSGH Solar portfolio from sPower Holdings Ltd for GBP12.2 million.
The portfolio consists of four ground mounted solar parks with a total generating capacity of 33.5 megawatts
One of the parks, Higher Tregarne, is in Cornwall and has been operational since March 2014, with a generation capacity of 5 MW and is accredited for 1.6 renewable obligation certificates. The other three, Crug Mawr, Golden Hill, and Shoals Hook are located in South Wales, and have been operational since March 2015 with a total generation capacity of 28.3 MW, accredited for 1.4 ROCs.
The acquisition was funded by a drawdown of John Laing Environmental' s revolving credit facility, and brings the total capacity of renewable energy assets in the company's portfolio to 225.2 MW.
