VARTA Storage Top 3 in European Home Energy Storage Systems

News

In 2017, VARTA Storage from Nördlingen was the third-largest supplier of energy storage systems for private use in Europe. The ranking was conducted by EuPD Research, the Bonn-based market and opinion research institute, in its latest market study. "We are very happy about this independent confirmation," said Gordon Clements, General Manager Residential Power & Energy at VARTA Storage GmbH. "Demand for our storage systems is growing steadily and we are seeing growth across our various sales channels."

The EuPD has calculated that the market volume for energy storage systems has more than doubled since 2015. Germany is by far the largest sales market in Europe, followed by Italy, the UK, Austria and France. VARTA Storage has been present on the Italian market since the end of 2016; in the summer of 2018, VARTA will enter the British market. In 2017, the company also expanded and restructured its product range. Recently, the VARTA pulse was added. This small, compact wall storage system is available in two performance classes: 3.3 kilowatt hours (kWh) and 6.5kWh.

"With our storage systems, safety is the number one consideration but our ease of installation, as well as the ability to communicate with many Smart Home applications from different manufacturers are the key factors for our installers and end customers," Clements explained. The number of partner products with which the energy storage systems can communicate is constantly growing, and leaves installers and home owners with many options available. In the past two years, the partner network has grown to over a dozen compatible applications and we believe this will continue to grow in the future with new applications emerging constantly.
