ARMOR manufacturers a 60 cm-wide organic PV module
ARMOR has reached an important milestone in the production of its flexible photovoltaic film, ASCA. After a battery of tests completed last December, production of a 60 cm-wide organic photovoltaic module has been launched, a first for a market in which the previous widest was 50 cm. Developed by the ASCA Research, Development, Innovation and Industrialisation Department, this innovation opens up new frontiers in construction and transport applications, adding to the range already offered by ARMOR.
Tested for its levels of electrical performance, the new photovoltaic module produced by ARMOR supplements its current range of ASCA modules available in widths of 15cm and 30cm, while retaining the same levels of performance of 40 watt-peak. These performance levels are certified for industrial use and constitute a world record for 60cm-wide modules. Furthermore, the width of these new modules increases the potential of the film to be incorporated within finished products.

This latest innovation from ARMOR has been created and developed by our RDII team. Their objective is to develop new photovoltaic films that can be used by the multi-discipline team, ASCA Solutions Lab. It is responsible for assessing utilisation requirements and adapting products to the constraints of manufacturers seeking to incorporate ASCA within their applications. Among all of the application segments targeted by this technology, the segments called ASCA Structures and ASCA Transports are the main focus for the wider photovoltaic modules, due to the possibilities in the fields of construction and solar greenhouses and for all types of automotive, aviation, railway and marine equipment.
