Eesti Energia to acquire 19.15 MW of solar in Poland
Estonian state-owned energy company Eesti Energia AS has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 19.15 MW of solar farm projects in Poland.
Estonian green energy firm Enefit Green AS will pay EUR 17.3 million (USD 19.4m) to purchase the projects from GEO Group’s subsidiaries. The 19.15 MW capacity is split between a total of 20 solar parks.
Eesti Energia said that the acquisition fits within its strategy to boost its renewable energy portfolio in the Baltic Sea region.
Poland's installed solar power capacity currently stands at half a gigawatt. The country is seen to install 2,675 MW between now and 2023, according to SolarPower Europe's Global Market Outlook.
