BYD and EFT Systems launch commissioning service for Battery-Box Commercial

News

BYD Co. Ltd., manufacturers of rechargeable batteries, and their official service partner for the BYD Battery-Box, EFT Systems, will offer an internal commissioning service for the Battery-Box Commercial from October 2021. In the future, installers and wholesalers will have access to a reliable commissioning service module as part of their planning and installation process for commercial energy storage projects. Initially, the service offer will be available across Germany, with additional regions to be added.

In 2020, commercial storage systems saw a strong growth among stationary battery storage systems with almost 66 percent relative market growth compared to the previous year(i). “According to the forecasts, this trend is expected to continue, driven by electromobility and the evolution of charging infrastructure, rising energy prices and new business models to optimize energy consumption”, said Julia Chen, Global Director, BYD Battery-Box. “We want to support installers and wholesalers in coping with the rapidly increasing project demand by giving them the option to utilize an expert commissioning service.”

Commissioning Service Benefits

Renewable energy solutions for commercial application scenarios often require individual project planning and design. “With our new service we support a reliable and plannable commissioning of the Battery-Box Commercial as a dependable component in the project planning. Installers will be able to apply the storage system quickly, safely and easily in their projects without having to acquire product-specific certifications,” explains Christian Bausch, EFT-Systems.

The commissioning service provided by the EFT-Systems team includes professional support of the installer in the preparatory work for the system assembly, as well as the commissioning of the storage system on-site. The DC connection on the battery-side is installed by a certified specialist in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and tests. The service also includes additional safety tests in accordance with latest safety requirements. Subsequently the configuration of all storage system components and the commissioning of the entire storage system is executed by the service team. This makes sure that the commissioning is implemented in accordance with the technical conditions for BYD’s manufacturer's guarantee without the need for the installer to invest in special tools or training.

Rapid and high-quality commissioning, taking current standards into account and providing a comprehensive system documentation, increases project planning security and ensures project progress.

With the service offering, BYD and EFT support the implementation of a high-quality standard for commercial commissioning. The services unburden installers so and make sure they can provide more customers with the full advantages of the Battery-Box Commercial solution.

The commissioning service will be available via BYD Battery-Box wholesalers from October 2021.

Battery-Box Commercial at-a-glance

The BYD Battery-Box Commercial is the largest battery storage system within the Battery-Box family and is intended for commercial and industrial applications. The system models C130 (131 kWh) and C230 (233 kWh) with the REFUstore inverter unit provide 88kW of power. The connection to the customer's energy system is realized on the AC-side. The integrated EMS allows the application for peak-shaving. Another common use-case is an increased energy self-consumption. For more complex projects, such as dynamic load-control of charging infrastructure, the solution can be easily integrated into a higher-level energy management system. Outstanding capacity reserves differentiate the Battery-Box Commercial from other commercial systems. The lithium-iron phosphate battery cells ensure a safe and high-performance storage.
