Commercial Electricians Expand into Domestic Solar Market

News

Fusion Electrics, a Leicestershire-based family-owned electrical business, has expanded into the domestic solar energy market. The company now offers homeowners sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions alongside their existing commercial electrical and renewable services.

Established in 1997, Fusion Electrics have always held an enviable reputation within the commercial sector, taking pride in focusing heavily on renewable energy solutions. With the growing demand for clean and renewable energy, the company has made the move to leverage its expertise to offer solar installation services to homeowners as well as accredited solar installers for Business customers since 2011.

This expansion has come at the ideal time, with the cost of living continuing to rise and installation figures for solar panels increasing by 39.7% from 2016 to 2022, with no sign of slowing. Homeowners are realising that despite the unpredictable weather in the UK, solar power systems rely on daylight hours rather than direct sunshine to generate electricity, so what may once have been seen as an expensive luxury for hot countries is now a viable option for many households.

So, what are the benefits of solar to homeowners? Aside from the obvious environmental impact, your average solar PV system has been proven to lower energy bills by an average of 50%, reducing a household’s dependence on the National Grid, and even increasing property value by up to 4.2%, so it is no wonder solar is becoming increasingly popular. Moreover, the government has implemented a 0% VAT freeze on solar panels until April 2027, providing additional financial incentives for homeowners considering solar installations.

"As a family business, we understand the importance of building a better future for the next generation, and our renewable energy services are aligned with our mission to provide reliable and sustainable energy solutions." said Joanne Skinner, Commercial Director. "We are excited to be able to offer our domestic customers a sustainable energy option that will help them save money and reduce their carbon footprint, futureproofing their homes.”

Since Fusion Electrics’ launch into the domestic market, the response has been overwhelming, and they are quickly making their mark amongst homeowners in the Midlands area. In such a competitive market, Fusion Electrics have proven themselves to be a company where the little things make a big difference – being punctual, working tidily and going that extra mile is something they are passionate about, priding themselves on customer recommendations, something that is unsurprisingly proving popular with homeowners.

One of their most recent jobs involved the installation of a Solar PV Installation and Battery Storage system in Rothey for Christine and Richard, who were delighted with their system; "We contacted Fusion Electrics about our Solar PV project on the recommendation of friends, who had just had their project completed, and were directed to Fusion’s renewables manager, Jack. We were impressed by Jack’s expertise when he first came out to meet us and survey our property. Jack is a qualified electrician and this meant that he was able to offer us sound advice during the planning stages. He did not attempt to offer a ‘standard plan’, but instead listened to what we wanted to achieve and worked to accommodate this, taking time to revise the plans as necessary. E.g. we wanted off-grid capability and this was included in our project.

They continued: Jack is an excellent communicator and if he did not know the answer to a question, he immediately found out the answer for us. When it came to installation, Jack led the team very competently. All the team were well-motivated and worked hard on our installation, leaving the site clean and tidy upon completion. Jack’s work after completion was exceptional, monitoring our system to iron out any 'teething problems' and providing excellent documentation for us. We are now enjoying generating our own electricity and are very pleased with the results."

It is clear Fusion’s years of experience have made them well-equipped to handle any solar installation project, big or small, and there is no doubt, with the demand for solar power ever increasing, they will continue to thrive within this sector.
