REC Contracts M+W Zander
M+W Zander wins contract for new REC photovoltaic manufacturing complex in Singapore.
Engineering company M+W Zander has been awarded by the Norwegian Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) as contractor for the new photovoltaics manufacturing complex in Singapore. The order volume is valued within a three digit million Euros range. It comprises planning and construction for the cells and modules part of the integrated solar complex, including the hook-up of the process tools.
“It is an important success for M+W Zander to receive a major order from the world's largest producers of polysilicon and wafers for solar applications”, said Jürgen Wild, speaker of the M+W Zander management board. He added: “After having reached its full capacity this project will demonstrate the high competitiveness of REC's solar energy solutions.”
The contract is part of phase 1 development of the REC Singapore plant. The planned cell capacity for this phase is estimated at approximately 550 Megawatt from eight production lines. The planned capacity for the modules is estimated at approximately 590 Megawatt from four production lines.
