ILS Enters The Solar Market

News
ILS Technology extends secureWISE collaboration platform to solar power industry
ILS Technology, LLC has announced it is to offer its secureWISE remote-collaboration platform to the solar energy market. secureWISE already is a remote-collaboration and secure-connectivity solution for the worldwide semiconductor industry, and ILS Technology will begin demonstrating the business and operational efficiency benefits of the platform to leading-edge alternative energy enterprises, especially thin-film solar module manufacturers.

“The secureWISE service has been widely hailed as a game-changing technology in the semiconductor industry because of the remote diagnostics and continually improving service capabilities it provides to equipment OEMs and their manufacturing customers, and these advantages are equally applicable in the solar fabrication industry,” said Fred Yentz, president and CEO of ILS Technology. “With current economic conditions leading manufacturers to seek ways to reduce expenditures, these remote functions allow companies to geographically distribute operational aspects in the most cost-efficient manner possible. This is especially important in the solar industry, where the need to keep costs low in order to achieve price parity with other sources of electricity is a top priority.”

The solar-module industry is an ideal environment for remote access and control. secureWISE provides the intelligent, secure connectivity and live network collaborations that help solar manufacturers better manage the equipment in their production facilities. By remotely providing advanced process control of the module-making equipment in the fab, manufacturers will have access to diagnostic information in real-time, drastically reducing the need for technology experts to travel around the globe to provide support. The level of productivity provided by secureWISE will allow solar fab operators to prevent equipment breakdowns that result in downtime and lost productivity. The platform also can be used to optimize equipment performance and improve operational efficiency by reducing the size of engineering and maintenance staff at these plants.

ILS Technology's secureWISE combines the real-time, on-demand collaborative environment of the company's eCentre software and its ServiceNET virtual private network architecture to provide a completely integrated security system that links development teams, manufacturing sites and supply chain partners worldwide. secureWISE enables all members of a production team to share information in real-time and remotely execute production commands. The result is dramatically increased productivity, shortened time to market, improved ROI and superior products resulting from fully protected, shared information. Additionally, the secureWISE software-as-a-service model substantially lowers the barrier to entry and allows OEMs to securely share data for a monthly service charge.
