6MW Solar Park
Masdar PV and Beck Energy build large open-space solar park in Germany
With effect immediately, 65,000 modules from Masdar PV will be generating 6,096,000 kWh of renewable energy annually at Europe's largest ground mounted plant with solar modules from Masdar PV. In partnership with Beck Energy GmbH the project with an installed capacity of 6 MWp was realized on a ca. 30-ha site in Luckenwalde (50 km south of Berlin) and connected to the grid within a period of only two months. The total solar energy generated by the modules can supply around 2,200 four-person households.
"We have created a reference project here for future utility-scale photovoltaic power plants and for our Masdar PV product", reports Frank Wouters, CEO of Masdar PV, with satisfaction. "We are convinced that large-scale plants of this type will make an important contribution to the local and regional diversification of the energy mix."
Bernhard Beck, managing director of Beck Energy GmbH, which will soon be doing business under the international brand name BELECTRIC, is also enthusiastic about the project. "The Masdar PV modules are very well suited for installations this type of large-scale projects because they offer an excellent cost-benefit ratio."
The plant in Luckenwalde, according to Beck, signaled the beginning of a constructive collaboration between the firm based in Kolitzheim in Lower Franconia and Masdar PV. First smaller follow-up projects are already underway in Abu Dhabi.
"We are confident that we have found a powerful partner in Beck Energy with whom we can successfully carry out projects in our target markets around the world", says Frank Wouters.
