Axio Power To Construct Largest Solar Facility In Hawaii
5 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility planned
Axio announced that it will develop a 5 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility, co-located with a refinery owned by Tesoro Corporation, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Axio has executed a PPA with Hawaiian Electric Company for the supply of solar energy at a low price of power over 20 years. The project will be built on marginalized, industrial lands and will serve the load center of Honolulu, reducing dependence on coal-fired power stations and moving the State towards a renewable energy future.
