The International PV Equipment Association (IPVEA) and the Saudi Arabia Solar Industry Association (SASIA) have formed a new mutual cooperation agreement designed to help each association promote the benefits of PV in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional markets which is expected to grow to 3.5 GW by 2015.
Saudi Arabia in particular according to the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE), is planning to add an additional 41 GW of solar power by 2032, with 16 GW to be generated by PV and 25 GW by solar thermal power plants.

"We are looking forward in working together with SASIA with the aim of achieving the regions targets and the opportunities that this brings for the international solar industry."
The cooperation agreement provides for regular consultation between the two organizations on issues relating to market intelligence for localized PV manufacturing and allows for attendance at each other's general meetings. "This cooperation agreement will certainly reinforce the commitment and contribution towards sustainable growth in Saudi Arabia "“ IPVEA is an excellent partner to share knowledge and experience from the PV manufacturing industry perspective," affirmed Browning Rockwell, Executive Director, SASIA.
