Italians approve recycle scheme

News

The Italian Energy Agency GSE has approved PV CYCLE Italia SrL as an accredited take-back and recycling scheme under Conto Energia IV and V. With this all modules managed under Italy's leading take-back and recycling scheme have earned access to feed-in-tariffs under currently applicable energy law.

With the official recognition of PV CYCLE Italia SrL, the organization became one of ten take-back and recycling schemes approved to provide PV waste solutions under Conto Energia IV and V. Since July 2012, the Italian energy law has been making take-back and recycling a mandatory prerequisite for granting access to feed-in-tariffs.

"The acknowledgement of our take-back and recycling services by GSE is a further milestone in our hard work to design and manage an extended producer responsibility that can meet economic as well as ecological aspects", said Ilaria D'Angelo, Country Manager of PV CYCLE Italia, welcoming the decision of the Italian Energy Agency. "Nevertheless, our work does not stop here. Our support to a smooth and fast transposition of the WEEE Directive into Italian WEEE legislation is our next objective", she also said.

PV CYCLE has the mission of offering waste treatment services that enable our members to continue selling their PV modules in all European countries. Changing from a voluntary take-back and recycling scheme to a WEEE-regulated market, the organization is currently in the process of adapting its system to the new market environment.

With its long track record and proven PV waste solutions, PV CYCLE is today's No 1 take-back and recycling scheme for post-production PV module waste in all European countries. As the only scheme, PV CYCLE offers fully operational collection and recycling services for all types of PV technologies.
