Clenergy strengthens ties in Lijang

News

Ljiang city officials recently hosted an investment forum and a new project signing ceremony in Shenzhen, China. Led by Mayor He Lianghui, Lijiang city's delegation signed a number of cooperation agreements covering several investment and development projects in Lijiang.

The new projects include a 300MW solar PV project. Clenergy as the solar park solution provider will team up with strategic partner CGN Solar Energy, China's leading solar power supplier and service provider, in cooperation with the Lijiang city government. The two partners will invest 3.9 billion RMB and develop PV power plants totalling 300MW in Lijiang by the end of 2015.

Clenergy and CGN Solar Energy will also assist with the Lijiang government's solar energy planning between 2013 and 2020. Major goals include bringing advanced solar technologies to Lijiang and promoting solar applications in residential and BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) market sectors.

Lijiang is a strong candidate for the development of solar energy because of its low-latitude and high-altitude location in southwest China. The area receives an average annual 2,530 hours of sunshine and has a relatively sophisticated infrastructure.

"To build Lijiang into an important clean energy base is one of Lijiang's development objectives,"said Mayor He. It's an effort that dovetails with the strengths of Clenergy and its partner CGN Solar Energy, both of which have experience in utility-scale projects.

The Lijiang 300MW PV project is Clenergy's first project in southwest China and is a milestone in the company's development. The first phase of the project will help boost the local economy, lessen pollution and increase job opportunities.
