IBC Solar develop project in Japan

News

IBC SOLAR has started the construction of a 2.3 megawatt (MW) solar park in Sakura, Japan. This is the first of a range of large-scale PV projects that IBC SOLAR will fully develop, acquire, finance and execute in close collaboration with local partners in the Japanese market. Within 2014 and 2015, the PV systems integrator plans to realise several additional PV projects and thereby contribute towards strengthening the solar sector in Japan.

IBC SOLAR has delivered 9,144 IBC PolySol 255 modules for the PV power plant in Sakura, where construction began in mid-May. In this case, the German company is pre-financing the entire project until its completion, scheduled for mid-July 2014, and afterwards intends to sell it to an investor interested in exploiting the plant economically. Thanks to the company's global experience of over 30 years, investors can generally rely on German quality standards and high cost efficiency.

For this PV project, IBC SOLAR secured the highest feed-in tariff of 40 YEN back in May 2013, which makes the project particularly attractive for investors. After grid connection, this tariff is guaranteed for the next 20 years. "Based on our profound experience as a leading PV system integrator worldwide, we feel very comfortable doing business in Japan. IBC SOLAR is fully committed to the development of a strong and sustainable PV sector in Japan, and we are very proud to contribute to the country's rich future in solar energy," says Udo Möhrstedt, CEO and founder of IBC SOLAR AG.

The PV expert plans to implement further PV projects in cooperation with small and medium-sized local partners in Japan. For this, IBC SOLAR is acquiring projects in different stages of development, before putting all its know-how and strong financial capability into them.

"The philosophy of IBC SOLAR is matching the main values of Japanese business culture 100 percent. The two main aspects that contribute to IBC SOLAR's success all over the world are the very high quality of our business along the value chain and our policy of long-term relationships with our partners which are based on trust and solidarity," Möhrstedt adds.
