Large Polish Power Plants Runs with Q CELLS Modules

One of Poland's largest photovoltaic power plants has been brought online at the Baltic Sea in Gdańsk. Hanwha Q CELLS supplied the Poland-based EPC company PVTEC Polska Sp. z o. o. and installation business INSBUD Sp. z o.o., with circa 1.6 megawatts (MWp) of its crystalline Q.PRO-G3 modules with power classes of 260 watt-peak (Wp). The two companies were responsible for planning and construction of the large-scale project in the Voivodeship of Pomerania; the installation took two months. The plant will produce enough clean energy to power around 720 households; based on the average energy consumption of a Polish household. The PV power station has been constructed for ENERGA Group, the country's third largest energy group and leader of the Polish market in terms of the share of renewable energy in own production, who carried out the tender.

Dariusz Åšcibor, Project Manager at PVTEC Polska said, "We are glad that we were the company who came out as the winner of the tender process. For reasons of quality and reputation we decided to use the high-performing Q CELLS modules to power the solar park." Plenty of companies had submitted their tenders to the utility for the plant's construction. Adrian Kocan, who is responsible for Hanwha Q CELLS' sales activities on the Polish PV market, said, "We are pleased about contributing to this utility-scale PV project of ENERGA Invest, PVTEC and INSBUD with our Q CELLS modules."

Hanwha Q CELLS is one of the most active PV companies in Poland. The PV provider had already successfully supplied modules in the country. The Polish PV market is gradually on its way up. "Our company places hopes on this PV market and sees Poland as the most active PV market of Eastern Europe. We strongly welcome the fact that the political framework for further developing photovoltaics in Poland takes more and more concrete shape," said Justin Lee, CCO of Hanwha Q CELLS.
