Onyx Solar to open large factory in Spain
Onyx Solar has started setting up a new factory with 8,000m2 in the industrial district of Vicolozano in Avila, Spain.
Onyx Solar aims to increase its production space up to 140,000 m2. The opening of the new facility will employ 60 additional people, who will be joining the 40 existing staff members.
The relocation of the manufacturing facility in àvila, where Onyx Solar headquarters is located, reinforces the strategy of Onyx Solar in promoting growth and wealth of the region where it was founded.
àlvaro Beltran, the Founder of Onyx Solar, is a young entrepreneur who, in a little over 5 years, has managed to turn his dream into reality.
The CEO, àlvaro Beltran, states "it is necessary to invest on technological innovation, while utilizing internationalization as the main driving force for development and growth of a country. The products made in Spain are high quality". He further elaborates, "As entrepreneurs, we have the responsibility to create income, wealth, and employment in our community all the while trusting in sustainable measures to protect the environment." The most important milestones of the company include the patent of the world's first walkable photovoltaic floor which was installed at George Washington University and has received numerous awards for its high degree of innovation; the execution of the largest photovoltaic skylight of the world integrated at the headquarters of the pharmaceutical company Novartis in New Jersey. This respective project, in collaboration with the installation of the Onyx Solar photovoltaic technology, was awarded the "Best Project of New York 2014"³ in the category of sustainable building.
