Pangea and Solar Log sign global smart metering partnership

News

Pangea and Solar-Log have recently agreed a global partnership, allowing Solar-Log to benefit from the global IoT solutions and connectivity provided by Pangea. Solar-Log is looking to help its customers with GPRS connectivity in all the 85 countries it services by using the Global M2M network provided by Pangea. Pangea provides M2M connectivity in over 200 countries across 400 networks, allowing for an improved experience when using Pangea M2M Connectivity with your Solar-Log device.

For the last decade NWT Solar, a division of NWT Energy, has been perfecting solar power plant solutions across Europe. NWT pride themselves on delivering a high standard of customer service while never forsaking their drive for exceptional products. NWT Solar has been part of the initial phase of the global partnership between Pangea and Solar-Log in order to gather real feedback from the market.

Tim Haffenden, Technical Director of NWT Solar in the UK, said "Our solution requires connectivity and a platform that just works. It's costly and time consuming to drive out to site if there is ever an issue with the connectivity. Before we met the team at Pangea, we had been using a well known global MNO to deliver our mobile data connectivity, however we kept having issues with coverage and the fact that the SIMs would stop working after a period of inactivity. Since Pangea and Solar-Log have been working together on a multi-network service, we have seen a tangible improvement in our service and our issues of coverage have become less of a hassle."

Dan Cunliffe, Managing Director at Pangea | Connecting Everything, explained "Pangea is all about providing the best in class Global IoT solutions. We were introduced to the team at Solar-Log when a client of ours said they struggled to connect to the Solar-Log device. We did some trials and eventually showed that we could resolve this issue with our SMART Connectivity and platform. Solar-Log and Pangea complement each other as we are both global companies that deliver exceptional service. We look forward to supporting all their distribution partner moving forward".

"We are delighted to be partnering with the team at Pangea on a global scale. With our worldwide used Solar-Log devices that provide solutions for Monitoring, Energy and Feed, we are a stronger and more reliable component in an ever-changing energy market. However, with the addition of the Pangea multi-network GPRS connectivity options, we are truly able to give our clients the experience we want. The service has been great and just works in several of our operating countries, for many of our distributors. We look forward to working closer with the team at Pangea and helping our customers take advantage of this new partnership globally" said Dr. Frank Schlichting, CEO at Solar-Log.

Tim Haffenden, Technical Director at NWT Solar, added "Pangea and Solar-Log are our device and M2M connectivity partners of choice and have made it so much easier to focus on our products rather than be concern about the setup, as it just works. We are excited to work closer with them in the future."
