GES completes first utility-scale PV plant in Jamaica.
After some wind installation projects in Jamaica, this is the first PV Project executed by GES in country. According to Luis Ares, GES´Chief Operation Officer, "The execution of a project in a country where the renewable energy activity is just starting is always a challenge; but thanks to our experience we have the required flexibility and can deliver same high standards all over the world. This first PV plant in Jamaica is an important milestone for GES, because of the scope of the project and the great potential of the renewable energy in the country."
With the plant's connection to the grid, GES adds 150 MW to the solar construction activity and starts 2017 with great expectations in this field. GES is working to continue increasing the income from the solar activity in the near future. This will reinforce GES' leadership as independent construction and service provider for the renewable sector.
GES started setting the benchmark in the wind sector. Its presence in the solar market grew step by step during the past decade, until it became a main activity for the company.
