Façade of Onyx Solar's PV Glass in Dubai
Onyx Solar has participated in the construction of DEWA R&D Centre & Laboratory in Dubai, by supplying 1000 sqm of semi-transparent coloured photovoltaic glass.
The four facades of the building will implement a louver system composed by Onyx Solar amorphous silicon glass with transparency degree XXL and 6 different colours, creating a multi-coloured façade that provides a unique effect to the building. The two entrance canopies on north and west facades will also integrate Onyx Solar semi-transparent glass to maintain visual continuity in the complete building envelope. All photovoltaic glass pieces manufactured for this project are 100% customized to fit the design requirements of the building.
This project is a great example of DEWA's commitment with sustainability. DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) is a state entity whose objective is to provide an adequate and sustainable supply of electricity and water to Dubai's population. DEWA also focuses its efforts on promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in United Arab Emirates.
