Heraeus and table tennis superstar reveal secret for championship-level success

News

Heraeus Photovoltaics, which has helped customers achieve PERC efficiency world records five times in the past 18 months, has announced that table tennis star Timo Boll will meet fans at the Heraeus Booth (W3-510) at the 2018 SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition & Conference at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Boll will meet fans on May 29 for photos, autographs and a chance to play a few volleys with this legendary world champion.

The partnership between Heraeus Photovoltaics and Timo Boll, ranked number one in 2018 for the fourth time in his career, centers around a shared commitment for peak performance and world records. For Heraeus, the most recent customer achievement occurred in China, where the company's silver paste enabled a solar cell company to reach 23.95% photovoltaic conversion efficiency, establishing a new monocrystalline

Andreas Liebheit, President of Heraeus Photovoltaics, noted that after company executives met with the legendary table tennis superstar, it became clear they shared the same principles of success: strategy, speed and, above all, teamwork. "The Timo Boll story is a perfect fit with Heraeus.

His career reflects what we do every day to ensure our metallization pastes help our customers win and attain world-record performance: be lightning fast, have a sharp strategy for a competitive, fast-changing marketplace, and build a strong sense of teamwork with customers."

Timo Boll's partnership with Heraeus at SNEC 2018 reflects his personal passion for clean, sustainable energy: he insisted that his recently constructed home be powered by solar energy. He said, "Renewable energy is important to me because we should not only think about the time we are here on this planet, but keeping future generations in mind and making sure we use natural resources wisely and responsibly."

Fascinated by technology, Boll became intrigued by solar cells, and sees the similarities to his table tennis career. Whether it's delivering top performing solar cells or competing in a championship match, he adds, "you need teamwork to perform on a world-class level. My outstanding successes are the result of many people joining forces and working for one common goal."

Continuing its commitment to help customers attain championship-level PERC efficiency with their solar cells, Heraeus Photovoltaics introduce three new additions to its silver metallization paste product line at SNEC 18.
