Q CELLS wins n-tv Germany Life & Living Award 2020 for most popular provider of solar technology

News

The German-born brand ranked the highest among all solar module makers in the solar technology category, winning top marks for Overall Satisfaction and on whether a customer would choose the same brand again. The award is based on the ratings of more than 40,000 German consumers.

Q CELLS, a renowned total energy solutions provider in solar cell and modules, energy storage, downstream project business and energy retail, has been awarded with one of the top consumer quality accolades in Germany, securing top spot in n-tv’s Life & Living Award 2020 in the category of solar technology.

Awarded by n-tv and the German Institute for Service Quality, the seal of “Germany’s Most Popular Supplier – Life & Living Award 2020” is among the most highly valued recognitions of consumer quality in the country. Q CELLS, which has its R&D and Technology headquarters in Thalheim, Germany, has won the inaugural award in the solar technology segment, which was introduced this year. This success reflects the company’s recent strategy to expand into Germany’s residential market supplying high quality solar modules, battery storage systems, and attractive clean energy retail packages.

Engineered in Germany, enjoyed globally

Since 1999, the Q CELLS brand has been synonymous with quality solar technology. Over the past two decades, Q CELLS has grown into a globally recognised brand leader, and is among the largest suppliers of solar cells and modules worldwide, with a strong presence in Asia, Australia, the USA and across Europe. In 2019, Q CELLS branched out into the energy retail sector to become a total energy solutions provider with a solar DNA.

In securing the n-tv award, Q CELLS has been able to successfully transfer its reputation for excellence and high quality products into its home consumer market, coming out on top in a strong solar technology field that comprised 11 brands in total. Q CELLS was ranked number one for overall satisfaction, and also secured first place in the category asking consumers whether they would use the brand again.

n-tv and the German Institute for Service Quality collaborate annually to deliver these awards, which are based on the ratings and feedback of more than 40,000 customer reviews. In total, more than 600 companies across a range of industries are evaluated. The aim of the awards is to identify which companies and brands have delivered the highest level of customer satisfaction, and whether customers would use those brands again and recommend them to a friend.

A total of 41 different industry sectors were assessed for the 2020 Awards, with feedback gathered between October 2019 and January 2020 via an online consumer survey.

In Germany, Q CELLS offers a complete package of clean energy solutions for the home, from solar systems on the roof to 100% renewable electricity supply from the socket. The company’s portfolio of products and services includes a wide range of solar modules that regularly win awards and technical recognition within the solar industry for their durability, performance standards, aesthetics and technological excellence. Q CELLS also offers to German customers additional packages to help them get the most out of their solar system, including scalable battery storage solutions and smart energy management software for the intelligent and cost-saving consumption of electricity. Q CELLS also launched last year Q.ENERGY, which is a 100% clean energy retail tariff, meaning customers can consume renewable energy all year round – even if they do not have their own solar system installed.

Maengyoon Kim, Head of EU Sales for Q CELLS, said: “We are extremely proud to receive the n-tv Life & Living Award 2020 for Germany’s Most Popular Supplier of solar technology. This accolade is testament to the years of diligent work and R&D that Q CELLS has invested to ensure that our solar modules consistently lead the industry in terms of quality and performance.

“It is also testament to the high standards that German consumers expect and demand; which is something that Q CELLS, as a company with strong German roots, is well aware of. We have built on this strong brand recognition and evolved into a provider of total energy solutions for residential customers in Germany with Q.ENERGY. And we plan on broadening our product and service offerings with new and exciting energy solutions over the coming months – so watch this space.”
