Ingeteam strengthens its position in Brazil with the inauguration of a new O&M centre

News

Ingeteam continues to consolidate its expansion in Brazil with the commissioning of a new operations centre at its production plant in Campinas, a city located in the state of São Paulo. The facility will incorporate cutting-edge technology for the operation and maintenance of its customers' photovoltaic and wind farms in Brazil and the American continent, as well as providing support to other centres. The company has also maintained its leadership in the wind and photovoltaic sectors, having been awarded a new wind farm maintenance contract and another for the largest supply of photovoltaic equipment to date in the country. It also leads local manufacturing in the supply of solar inverters and wind turbine converters.

The company also maintains its leadership in the wind and photovoltaic sectors, having been awarded two new contracts for the maintenance of a wind farm and a solar farm and another for the largest supply of photovoltaic equipment to date in the country. It also leads local manufacturing in the supply of converters for wind farms and solar PV inverters. In the words of the director of Ingeteam Brazil's services unit, Mauricio Silvano, "with this operation centre, Ingeteam will provide customers with greater security, reliability and agility in decision-making for the continuity of energy generation".

Present in Brazil for over two decades, Ingeteam currently employs 240 people in the country, of which around one hundred provide operation and maintenance services. It recently won two contracts for the next three years for the operation and maintenance of a new wind farm in Caetité, in the state of Bahia, and a new solar farm in Flecheiras, in the state of Ceará, positioning the company as the country's leading ISP (independent service provider).

The biggest PV contrat

In addition, it has also recently achieved a major milestone in the Brazilian photovoltaic sector having gained a new contract with Grupo Cobra, a subsidiary of COBRA IS, to equip the Belmonte photovoltaic project with a total nominal capacity of 455 MW.

This is the company's largest equipment supply to date in Brazil. Grupo Cobra, a world leader in all fields related to the engineering, installation and industrial maintenance of infrastructures, has awarded this equipment supply contract to Ingeteam Brazil, because it is the country's leading manufacturer of photovoltaic inverters. The new solar complex will be divided into two plants, Belmonte I and Belmonte II, with 155 and 300 MW respectively, located in the municipality of São José do Belmonte, Unidade Federativa de Pernambuco, Brazil. The contract involves the supply of its new liquid-cooled central inverters and medium voltage electricity substations for a solar complex located in the state of Pernambuco, in the north-east of the country, consisting of two photovoltaic power stations that will achieve 455 MW and generate energy to supply more than half a million families.

In the words of the director of Ingeteam’s Brazilian solar unit, José Nardi, the two photovoltaic power stations "consolidate Ingeteam's position as one of the main players in the Brazilian market for the supply of centralised power plants", as it will exceed 2 GW of supplied photovoltaic power thanks to this new contract

Wind power is another sector in which Ingeteam maintains a favourable position, as the leading supplier of locally manufactured wind turbine converters. Specifically, it closed 2022 with more than 1,100 MW of supplied power in the country bringing its cumulative total to 6,070 MW.

Ingeteam has an extensive track record in the supply of protection and control systems for electrical substations dating back to 1998. It has since won strategic contracts with the country's leading companies and gained a presence in over 400 substations. In addition, it has provided the technology necessary for the integration of more than 2.4 GW of renewable wind and photovoltaic energy into the Brazilian electricity grid. The company's facilities in the city of Curitiba, the capital of the state of Paraná, are notable for their manufacturing, programming and testing capabilities for entire protection and control systems and also serve as a technological hub for the Argentinian, Paraguayan, Uruguayan and Bolivian markets.
