Qualitas Energy wins tender, orders Nordex turbines for 39.9 MW wind farm

News

Qualitas Energy, a global investment, management, and project development platform focused on renewable energy, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure investment, announced today that it has secured the winning Federal Network Agency’s (BNetzA) tender for a 39.9 MW greenfield project in Dalkendorf, Mecklenburg, located in the Rostock district in northern Germany

Successful completion of the tender guarantees remuneration for electricity sales over the next 20 years, marking a key milestone in advancing the project. Qualitas Energy aims to begin construction in spring of 2025, with the farm slated for commissioning by mid-2026.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the company has already placed an order for the delivery of seven Nordex N149 wind turbines, each boasting an output of 5.7 MW.

“We are pleased to have received our first order from Qualitas Energy in June, especially as the Dalkendorf project is only a few kilometers away from our nacelle production in Rostock. We are confident that together with Qualitas Energy, we will successfully complete another project in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and we look forward to further enhancing our already strong collaboration,” stated Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central & Managing Director of Nordex Germany GmbH.

“Choosing the Nordex N149 turbine was a clear decision for us given their proven efficiency and reliability. We value Nordex’s pragmatic approach and the procurement and maintenance contract reflects our collaborative negotiation process. We eagerly anticipate partnering on future projects as a cohesive team,” explained Jorge Guzman, Head of WTG Purchase at Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH.

The Dalkendorf wind farm is among over 80 wind energy projects currently being developed by Qualitas Energy in Germany. The company is actively expanding its portfolio by acquiring greenfield project rights and existing wind farms for repowering across the country. With an investment of €1.2 billion, Qualitas Energy aims to expand its in-house project development pipeline to achieve a total capacity of 4 GW in wind energy.

Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH is part of the Qualitas Energy Group, which is committed to the transition to a decarbonized economy and focuses on the acquisition, financing, project development, construction, and operation of onshore wind turbines with a team of more than 250 employees in Berlin, Hamburg, Wiesbaden, Trier, Cologne, and Stuttgart.
