Mott Corporation Goes Solar

News
The company focuses core technology on photovoltaics and polysilicon processing.
Mott Corporation announces a major market focus on the rapidly growing photovoltaics technology and polysilicon processing. The international push towards developing sustainable energy resources and the growing presence of solar energy in that arena, is a natural fit with the filtration products and systems that Mott manufactures.

Mott Corporation's GasShield product line, adapted from a long experience in the semiconductor market, is increasingly being applied in a variety of photovoltaic production processes. Mott is supplying a wide variety of high flow gas filters, high efficiency diffusers, and larger process gas filtration systems used to remove silicon dust from GH2 to a number of companies producing everything from poly crystalline and mono crystalline based silicon to sophisticated thin film solar cells.

The photovoltaic marketplace is discovering the high temperature, high pressure capable benefits of Mott's all metal filtration, flow control and diffusion products. Mott offers products for a variety of applications including:

Large scale, fully automated gas blowback filtration systems used to remove silicon dust from hydrogen and silane reactors, high flow gas filters for crystal pulling reactor feed gases, inline all metal gas filters for SIH4, H2 and etchant gases used in thin film solar panel production and gas diffusers to provide exception uniform gas flows and improve thin film and CVD processes.

For production of raw polysilicon, Mott's porous metal based filtration systems have been successfully applied in some of the world's largest polysilicon production processes for both batch reactor processes, as well as cutting edge automated blowback systems for continuous reaction processes. Mott's unique product configurations deliver greatly increased filtration area in a smaller physical footprint, allowing customers to realise increased process efficiency, higher product quality, and meaningful energy savings. In essence, greater throughput, better quality, at a lower cost. In most cases, these gains are realised with significantly lower initial capital investment as well.

With a focus on engineered solutions, Mott is committed to working closely with our customers engineering staff to ensure that our product fits their application. From large process and bulk filter systems, down to sub litre per minute flow devices capable of handling the highest flow rates, Mott products deliver the highest quality, best overall cost and performance for our customers.
