Despatch Sees Opportunity In India

News
The company's CEO finds great opportunities in India through US Clean Energy and Environment Trade Mission.
Patrick Peyton, Chairman and CEO of Despatch Industries, recently returned from participating in the third U.S. Clean Energy and Environment Trade Mission to China and India. Mr. Peyton joined the group in India on the second leg of the mission. There, he spent time discussing clean energy business opportunities with leading Indian government officials in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Peyton was one of 19 delegates on the mission which was led by U.S. Commerce Assistant Secretary David Bohigian and Carmine D'Aloisio, Minister-Counsellor for Commercial Affairs.

"David Bohigian and Carmine D'Aloisio led an outstanding delegation through India," states Peyton. "We were allowed the opportunity to speak with top government officials who are in support of the solar industry and are actively seeking to grow the solar production market in India. These leaders recognise the benefit that the solar market can bring to India and their export initiatives."

During the mission's stop in Hyderabad, part of the Indian State Andhra Paresh (AP), the delegates spent a day touring the Green Business Centre (GBC). The GBC is at the heart of the State's activities involving energy efficiency, green buildings, renewable energy, water environment and recycling and climate change. The objective of the business centre is to provide green services and promote green concepts which lead to higher efficiencies, equitable growth and sustainable development throughout the State. The GBC is recognised as one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the world. The 20,000 square foot facility is made up almost entirely of recycled materials and, compared to a typical building its size, uses 60-75% less electricity through the application of photovoltaic cells.

"The Green Business Centre is a very impressive facility," Peyton states. "The building represents the State of AP's commitment to promoting green business practices in India and their aggressive endorsement and support of solar and other clean technology initiatives."

Mr. Peyton finished his successful trip by visiting a new customer in India, Semi Solar, a photovoltaic research and testing company. "It was wonderful to meet our customers from Semi Solar," states Peyton. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to integrate our equipment into their new facility opening in January. I look forward to many more successful partnerships in the growing clean technology market in India."
