Laser Meets Wet Chemical
RENA and SYNOVA have announced a joint venture to improve PV efficiencies
RENA and SYNOVA have signed a cooperation contract. SYNOVA has developed various “liquid jet guided laser” applications for the PV industry. This technology is protected by international patents. One potential application is the local laser doping of crystalline silicon using laser chemical processing, which was developed together with the Fraunhofer ISE/Freiburg.
This technology enables significant efficiency increases for crystalline solar cells - over 20% efficiency have already been achieved. RENA is the leading equipment and process supplier for wet chemical applications in the crystalline and thin film PV production. RENA and SYNOVA are developing novel process sequences. The first novel corporate products will be published in autumn 2009.
