New Projects Announcement
Phoenix Solar Singapore successful in its project business
Phoenix Solar Pte Ltd in Singapore, a subsidiary of TecDAX listed Phoenix Solar AG, has during the last few months acquired a number of significant solar projects with a peak output totalling 600 kilowatts.
A photovoltaic power plant with a peak output of 300 kilowatts is currently being built on a factory building in Singapore. Construction work on the power plant began in May 2009 using poly-crystalline solar modules from REC and inverters from SMA. The expected annual energy yield of the photovoltaic plant comes to around 330,000 kilowatt hours. The completion of what will be Singapore's largest photovoltaic plant has been scheduled for September 2009.
Phoenix Solar Pte Ltd's second project, the largest building-integrated thin-film photovoltaic power plant in Singapore, erected on the Tampines Grande building, was completed in May 2009. The turnkey photovoltaic power plant, planned and built by Phoenix Solar Pte Ltd, comprises a façade-integrated array built with modules from Schott Solar and a roof-mounted system with modules from Suntech, together totalling a peak output of 107 kilowatts. The power plant generates electricity for the multi-level car park of the energy-efficient office building. The annual energy yield has been estimated at approximately 120,000 kilowatt hours. The owner of the building is City Developments Ltd.
A roof-mounted photovoltaic system with a peak output of 181 kilowatts, built for Lonza Biologics Tuas Pte Ltd and announced by Phoenix Solar back in October 2008, will be finished at the end of June 2009. The modules used for this system also come from the manufacturer REC, with Solar-Fabrik supplying the frameless laminates.
Both the Tampines Grande and Lonza projects won the “Solar Pioneer Award“ of Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB). The EDB promotes the use of solar energy and the integration of solar systems in energy-efficient buildings in Singapore through its “Solar Capabilities Scheme“ programme.
“We are delighted at the success of our Singapore subsidiary's projects and most especially by the awards conferred for Tampines Grande und Lonza“, commented Ulrich Reidenbach, Chief Sales Officer of Phoenix Solar AG. “This shows that we are on the right track in Singapore and that we play an important role in the local market”.
