Circadian Solar Appoints New CEO To Drive Expansion
Jeroen Haberland announced as CEO with immediate effect.
Circadian Solar, a leading developer of concentrated photovoltaic technology (CPV), has announced the appointment of Jeroen Haberland as CEO with immediate effect. Haberland will join the management team in leading Circadian Solar's strategic development as it implements commercial projects on a global level and continues an intensive R&D programme in the UK. With an in-depth understanding of the solar energy market, Haberland's most recent role was co-founder and CEO of German thin film photovoltaics company, Johanna Solar Technology, recently acquired by Robert Bosch GmbH, which he built up from the seed stage through the establishment of manufacturing to initial market entry. Prior to this he held several senior positions within the Siemens organization, and took another company from start up through to trade sale. His experience in the photovoltaic sector and in building companies will be invaluable to Circadian Solar as it starts to commercialise its growing range of CPV projects. Haberland commented: "I'm delighted to be joining Circadian Solar at this stage in its growth: the company has reached a point of maturity following extensive technical development. The technology upon which the systems are based is at once robust and innovative, and I believe that it has the potential to make a significant contribution to the solar market worldwide. The work that I have done in the past complements the company's existing strengths and position, and I look forward to leading it to the next stage." Dr Robin Godfrey, who had been acting CEO for Circadian Solar and who will remain at the Company in a commercial role, added: "The next twelve months are set to be a very exciting time for Circadian Solar as we look to position ourselves right at the heart of the newly emerging global energy landscape. There is little doubt that solar energy broadly, and concentrated solar energy in particular, will have a major role to play in the future of energy generation, and we are delighted that we will be able to draw on Jeroen's extensive experience and vision for the company as we move towards a low-carbon future." This news follows last month's appointment of new business development manager, Richard Sammut.
