Internal Buy Out At Solland

News
Solland Solar acquired by its management
Solar cell and solar module manufacturer Solland Solar in Heerlen, the Netherlands, has been bought by its management. The sale made by the Energy Company DELTA to the current management enables Solland Solar to further shape its transition from a cell to a module manufacturer. The introduction of Sunweb, the new generation of solar modules developed by Solland Solar, fits this development. Based on positive reactions from the European market, Solland Solar expects a great response to the introduction of Sunweb.

DELTA has been actively searching for buyers for Solland Solar since January 2011. DELTA is pleased that the management of Solland Solar is now acquiring the company. Peter Boerma, CEO of DELTA: ‘We believe that clarity is important for the 280 Solland Solar employees. Their involvement in Solland is valuable. They are dedicated employees.'

Henk Roelofs, CEO of Solland Solar: ‘Solland is now in a more flexible position in terms of attracting partnerships and finance. This is sure to accelerate the introduction of our solar modules. By investing in marketing, sales, and production, Solland is able to cash in on the value of Sunweb and strengthen its European market position.'

Solland Solar has high expectations for the introduction of Sunweb, a newly developed generation of solar modules. This is also evident from the many enthusiastic reactions and concrete requests from European installers, the most important target group in the targeted countries such as Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands.

The Solland modules  are equipped with Metal Wrap Through Technology, a technology that realizes significantly higher energy returns. Each module consists of 60 cells that generate 6% more yield on a 4% smaller area. With a power rating of 250 Wp and an efficiency of 16%, Solland Solar take a leading position in the solar world with its Sunweb technology. The new generation modules will be introduced in the coming months by Solland Solar to the strong growing European residential market segment.
