Armor Group continues OPV plans

The Armor Group, a print technology company, is growing at a rate of 10% in 2012, following growth of 15% in 2011. The thermal transfer for barcodes (Armor Industrial Coding and Printing) and ink cartridge (Armor Office Printing) activities are supplemented by a research programme devoted to thin film organic photovoltaic technology, which aims to become a cornerstone of the future Armor Sustainable Energies activity.
Armor's good results in its traditional activities, alongside the company's determination to place sustainable development at the heart of its strategic decisions, are resulting in a high level of confidence. A €50 M investment plan for the 2013-2017 period has been confirmed for the La Chevrolière site, where ribbons of thin Thermal Tranfer film are produced, mainly destined for barcode printing.
Hubert de Boisredon, Armor Group CEO states: "The development of new-generation solar energy is set to influence the industry over the next thirty years. We want to turn Armor into a major French and European player in this field".
€14 M investments will thus be dedicated to the new Armor Sustainable Energies activity, which is founded on the group's expertise in thin film production. The group has already invested €16 M in the research and development phase and now seeks to manufacture the first samples, so that industrial production can start in 2014, followed by commercialisation with partners interested in this technology in 2015 or 2016.
