Schneider scores Thailand systems

News

The Solar Business of Schneider Electric, has been selected by Soleq Pte Ltd for 5 PV Power plants in Thailand amounting to 48 MW.

Schneider Electric has supplied a complete solution that covers the entire electrical balance of system for these 5 PV power plants. The sites are located in the North East and North West part of Thailand, totaling 40 MW in the province of Kamphaeng Phet and 8 MW in the province of Ubon Ratchathani.

"These projects are a confirmation of Schneider Electric's commitment to the East Asian Solar markets" commented Laurent Bataille, SVP Solar Business at Schneider Electric. "The reliability & the competitiveness of our integrated solution coupled with our ability to provide an integral support on the entire system architecture from the Array Box to the Inverters were determining criteria".

Schneider Electric is providing an integrated solution to its customers including Conext Core XC 680kW inverters, DC combiner boxes, array boxes, medium voltage switchgear and a monitoring & control system. This solution enabled our customer to reduce construction lead times, lower the costs of installation and commissioning and enhance uptime thanks to qualified & reliable design and the support of Schneider Electric's local project team.

A total of 57 Conext Core XC 680kW inverters were delivered for this project. This inverter range was launched less than 12 months ago and has best-in-class peak efficiencies in the market up to 98.9% and a field proven industrial design based on Schneider Electric industrial power drives. The Conext Core XC includes an innovative fast sweep MPPT algorithm (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and has been qualified for use in the harshest environmental conditions through intensive reliability testing.

Conext Control, an advanced solar monitoring & control solution, was also deployed in these PV plants. The system is customizable to the needs of investors and operators, and flexible in the way it integrates multiple sites. Above all, Conext Control provides vital intelligence to the business of generating photovoltaic energy. Real-time production data and trend analysis allow operators to optimize the solar harvest.

Diagnostics and remote control capability help reduce intervention costs, while smart alarms let service staff make prompt decisions and react accordingly in the event of a problem. This state of the art system will give the investors full control over their assets.

Soleq Pte Ltd developed these projects with Juwi as a lead EPC contractor. They selected Schneider Electric because of the ability to supply a standardized and globalized offer for the entire electrical balance of system. "We chose Schneider Electric for their competitive and fully integrated electrical solution, coupled with the long-term support they are able to offer us through their local service and execution center", explained Adam Ballin, Director at Soleq Pte Ltd.

"Schneider Electric is one of the few solution providers who can support a 10-year service contract backed with strong local expertise that can ensure the investor minimize the downtime of their PV power plants" said Amiran Roth-Deblon who head Juwi's business in Asia-Pacific.
