India set to widen dumping probe to include Europe and Japan
Reports in numerous media sources suggest the Indian Government is looking to further its probe into solar and PV product being dumped in the region and will now include Europe and Japan. The country has already initiated investigations into China, Taiwan, Malaysia and the USA.
By extending the probe the country is basically suggesting that all solar products imported into India have being done so at below cost price affecting local concerns. The move has been instigated by three companies. Indosolar, Jupiter Solar and Websol.
The action adds to the growing list of trade disputes around the world involving solar and PV products and adds to the sense of uncertainty around the renewable based industry. Like other such disputes the moves have as many local companies disagreeing as there are supporters with local costs set to rise as a result.
