Conergy continues search for mounting production investors

News

Conergy has appointed consultants Delphi as they continue the search for investors to purchase Conergy SolarModule. The company claims there is a number of interested parties and the move is to identify the best fit and to co-ordinate the sales process. The module production in Frankfurt (Oder) and Mounting Systems in Rangsdorf continue to operate unchanged with good utilization.

"We have already been in promising talks with several potential investors," said the preliminary insolvency administrator Dr. Sven-Holger Undritz of the law firm White & Case. "This is an important signal to the market and especially to the more than 500 employees in Brandenburg. Within the recently started sales process we want to drive the negotiations forward and, if possible, complete them by the beginning of October."

Mounting Systems in Rangsdorf is currently manufacturing subconstructions for numerous solar power plants in foreign growth markets, such as Thailand, Japan and the US. "As a company, we are uniquely positioned in the global market and our customers continue to remain loyal to us," said Managing Director Stefan Spork. "Discussions with potential investors are already heading into the right direction and we are confident that Mounting Systems is going to play a central role in the global solar markets in the future."

During the last weeks, management and preliminary insolvency administrator of the module producer Conergy SolarModule in Frankfurt have set the course for the future of their manufacturing base as well. "Apart from our high-quality products our potential investors especially focus on a direct access to clients and an independent presence in the market," said Managing Director Sven K. Starke. "We have worked on this with increased focus in the past weeks and months and have positioned our company as an interesting business partner. The demand for our high-quality products is still high and we can react flexibly to customer requirements. We are optimistic about the future of the manufacturing site Frankfurt (Oder)."

As early as two weeks ago it was announced that U.S. based financial investor Kawa Capital Management, Inc. ("Kawa") intends to acquire the global sales units from Conergy as well as the necessary associated administrative, management and infrastructure functions of Conergy AG, including the "Conergy" brand. A successful closing of this transaction would lead to positive synergies at Mounting Systems and Conergy SolarModule, because in this way a strong client and according sales channels can be maintained.
