Meyer Burger delivers high efficiency cell printing process
Roth & Rau B.V. in Eindhoven, a member of the Meyer Burger Group, has successfully concluded a contract to supply inkjet printers for printing mono crystalline high performance solar cells. With the PiXDRO ink jet printing technology from Roth & Rau B.V. Meyer Burger is the only company worldwide offering a printing process suitable for the mass production of high efficiency solar cells in combination with electroplating. The contract also includes wafer inspection systems from Hennecke Systems, another member of the Meyer Burger Group. The total order value is around CHF 3.5 million. Delivery of the equipment to the customer's production site in Asia is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2014.
Meyer Burger Technology Ltd (SIX Swiss Exchange: MBTN) announced today that it has successfully concluded a contract with an American customer for the delivery of inkjet printers and inspection systems for around CHF 3.5 million. The highly industrialised PiXDRO JETx inkjet printing system can be used for a variety of applications in the solar and electronic industries. With its very fine printing technology, the high-precision alignment and contactless deposition, the PiXDRO JETx is the only system specifically suited for the mass production of high performance solar cells. The inkjet printing and inspection systems are planned for use in a 100MW production facility in Malaysia. The printing systems are capable of front and rear printing up to 900 wafers per hour.
With the PiXDRO printing technology employed in the JETx system, Meyer Burger is setting a further standard in the mass production of high efficiency solar cells.
