Switzerland to Cut FiTs for Residential PV
The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) has announced that the FiTs for small-size PV installations will be further reduced in two phases, on Apr. 1 and Oct. 1, 2016, respectively. Following the reductions, the FiT for residential PV systems will be 7 percent and 13 percent lower than the current tariffs.
The new FiTs will remain in force until Apr. 1, 2017. The 15 percent bonus on the FiT for Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) systems will remain in place for the time being. The SFOE also revealed that 2,541 PV project proposals with a combined capacity of 100 MW were admitted to the FiT program.
