MECASOLAR installs its trackers in a 300 kW solar plant in Greece
MECASOLAR has installed 300 kW of solar trackers in Greece in a photovoltaic solar plant located in the county of Kilikis, whose production is operational from this April. The facility comprises 30 MECASOLAR MS TRACKERS 10+ and 60 SMA Sunny Boy Model 3300 inverters.
These inverters have been manufactured and supplied directly by the MECASOLAR factory in Greece, MECASOLAR HELLAS, located in Thessaloniki and which will supply all the material to the Greek market, as well as Bulgaria and countries of the Eastern Mediterranean.
One of the most important characteristics of this project is that it is one of the largest carried out in Greece with dual-axis solar trackers. To date, most projects in the country were 100 kW, if permitted by the new Greek legislation; from now on much larger photovoltaic plants will be developed.
In this regard, according to MECASOLAR, the elimination of the CAP (ceiling limit) for installed MWs each year by the new photovoltaic law in Greece, " will cause this and the Italian market, to become the most rapid to develop and for this reason we have decided to back direct investment.
MECASOLAR plans to continue its expansion in Greece and gain a foothold in the market. Last year the company launched this expansion with the opening of a 10,000 m2 factory in Thessaloniki, which marked the start of production of MECASOLAR trackers in Greece and the possibility of supplying the Greek market from there.
MECASOLAR forecasts for the period 2009-2011 are to supply 30 MW in this area of the market: Greece, Bulgaria and the countries of the eastern Mediterranean.
