A new robotic centre of excellence is due to open in India

Adept Technology has announced a new Adept Robotics Centre will be inaugurated by PSG College of Technology, a pioneer in technical education, August 5-6th in Coimbatore, India. The inauguration will take place at the National Seminar on Robotics and Intelligent Automation in Manufacturing and Services event hosted by PSG.
"We're very excited to collaborate with Dr. P. Radhakrishnan and the prestigious PSG College of Technology and to participate in their robotics and automation seminar," said Hai Chang, managing director of Asia operations at Adept Technology. "The PSG College of Technology has consistently been ranked among the best engineering schools in India, and we believe their close industry collaborations greatly benefit both students and faculty as well as industry colleagues."
"It was brought to our attention through our industrial partners that Adept Technology has a strong global reputation for engineering and manufacturing innovative and practical robotics and automation products," said Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, director of PSG Institute of Advanced Studies. "We are pleased to work with Adept Technology to bring their products and technologies into our institute to promote the advancement of higher education in robotics and automation in India."
The Adept Robotics Centre at PSG will be launched with an Adept Cobra s600 SCARA robot with integrated vision guidance for high speed handling or precision assembly applications. Plans are underway to add the Adept Quattro s650 parallel robot with Adept ACE, a new powerful, highly integrated, point and click software, which provides an application development environment for Adept's entire portfolio of robots and controls, and vision guidance technology.

The focus of the National Seminar is on the application of automation and robotic technologies in lean and flexible manufacturing, inspection, repairs in hazardous environments, warehousing, food and consumer products manufacturing, medicine, etc. The seminar will also deliberate on exciting current trends in research and innovative application of robotic sciences and exploitation of artificial intelligence tools.
