Quarter Century Solar Materials Programme Announced
Christopher Associates announces 25 year solar material testing programs
Christopher Associates Inc. announced that it has been working with its key solar materials suppliers to test sealants, potting compounds and photovoltaic backsheet materials to meet the photovoltaic industry's expectations of 25-year minimum operating lifetimes for solar modules and assemblies.
"Historically, there has been a gap in the standard test data used to measure long-term performance of materials. By extending our test procedures to emulate the expected 25+ year conditions, we will be able to supply a better product at a competitive price," said Matthew Holzmann, President of Christopher Associates.
"Tonsan has been working with the China National Standards Committee for several years to develop the improved test standards for sealants and potting compounds," said Li Yinbai, Tonsan's Technical Director.
Zoomlight also has raised the bar on material testing standards. The company's backsheet material has been tested according to the most rigid standards for high-temperature/high humidity conditions and for weather resistance at levels significantly exceeding typical operational conditions and lifetimes.
