New joint venture for Japanese companies
Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd., Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. and the Development Bank of Japan Inc. have reached an agreement to establish a joint venture company for entry into the mega-solar business.
The Joint Venture Company will be called CSD Solar and plans to generate approximately 26,000 kW. Solar Frontier (a subsidiary of Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K.) panels will be used.
The new venture will be situated at the former Ohgishima Oil Terminal site in Yokohama and 7 sites formerly used as oil depots by Cosmo Oil. The new company expects first commercial products in the Spring of 2013.
