Solaria Expands into China Solar Market

News

Solaria Corporation has announced it has established operations in China to meet demand for high efficiency large-scale solar projects.

"As China expands its deployment of solar energy, there is a big push toward increasing the efficiency and reliability of large-scale solar power plants," said Solaria CEO Dan Shugar. "These projects require high-yield technology and experienced teams. Solaria's state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic module technology, reliable tracking systems, and expertise in large-scale project development will be of great value as China moves toward renewable power."

"Solaria has one of the most successful and experienced teams of solar professionals in the world," said Zhao Defeng, Business Development Director of Solaria China. "Solaria's expertise in ground-mounted, utility-scale projects brings new capabilities to the Chinese solar market."

Solaria has built many large-scale solar power plants in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Solaria's current projects in China include several megawatt-size solar power plants under construction in the Qinghai province and Inner Mongolia. One project under development is for CECEP Solar Technology Co., Ltd., China's largest solar power plant investor and operator.

"Our use of Solaria's state-of-the-art PV modules exemplifies CECEP's use of new technologies, and puts us at the forefront of innovations in solar energy production," stated an executive of CECEP Solar. Other power plants under construction are for GD Solar, a subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation, and Huanghe Hydropower, a subsidiary of China Power Investment Corporation, two of China's largest utilities.

Solaria offers optimized system solutions to provide the best performance and lowest cost across a wide variety of site location and conditions. Solaria's PV modules use patented low-cost technology to increase energy yield and provide reliable performance while matching form and fit of conventional modules. The modules, optimized for trackers, deliver up to 30% more energy than conventional fixed tilt systems. In order to meet the growing demand for Solaria modules in China and worldwide, Solaria is also establishing a high-volume manufacturing facility in China.

Ideal for China, the Solaria STS-AZ is a ground-mounted, single-axis vertical tracker that enhances PV energy production while reducing design, installation and operating costs. The STS-AZ tracker's smart use of materials, ease of procurement, installation, and engineered reliability makes it a highly robust and cost-effective choice to maximize the ROI of solar projects.

Solaria's management and solar team is responsible for the development and construction of over 1000 megawatts of solar photovoltaic tracking projects globally, including many of the world's largest solar installations.
